As much fun as watching sporting events on TV, it’s even more fun if you have a bet on your favorite team. Whenever your team has a winning game, it becomes even more exciting knowing that you have money riding on the results. You can bandar bola bet on sports such as basketball, baseball, soccer, tennis, hockey and football at sportsbooks, either physically, online or in some cases, even over the phone. However, betting on sporting events can be tricky, as there are many different types of bets you can make. Here are some of the common bets offered by sportsbooks.
* Straight Bet. Also known as singles, this is the simplest type of bet you can make. You simply bet on the team you believe will win and the odds given will determine how much you will win.
* Point Spread. This is the second most popular sportsbook bet. In point spread betting, the oddsmaker gives the team the favorite to make both teams equally attractive to the bettor. This handicap is called a spread and is usually expressed as a negative number next to the favorite team. In point spread betting, you win if your favorite team’s winning score is more than the spread. If you are the underdog, the bet pays off if the team wins or loses by less than the spread.
* Purchase Points. When you buy points on a point spread, you pay an extra amount to move the spread. Therefore, you earn more points when you bet on the underdog or award fewer points when you bet on the favourite, which can spell the difference between a winning or losing bet.
* Parlays. When you bet a parlay, you are betting on the outcome of several games. All the teams you bet on must win for your bet to pay off. If one team loses all bets are lost.
* Teasers. This is similar to a parlay bet, except that points are added to the underdog spread or subtracted from the favorite. This increases the odds of betting success but also reduces the odds, resulting in a smaller payout if your bet wins.
* Up and down. You bet whether the number of points scored by both teams is over or under the total set by the oddsmaker.
